Competition: #100Beards x Mensphere

Sartorial vs Street #AdidasOriginals

To me Adidas Originals conjours images of urban life, 1970s street culture, the birth of Hip Hop and the mean streets of New York City. As the German company only introduced this 'Originals' name recently, it may be completed fabricated in my mind, but there's certainly a street-cool that comes embedded in that simple pointy logo.

Pushing further into the realm of street culture, Adidas Originals' new Blue Series focuses on lifestyle heritage and wearable items that can be scaled up. This week I stopped by Adidas HQ in Covent Garden to select items for a 'Sartorial vs Street' photoshoot, looking at the versatility of the items. There are a few standout pieces to me but the waterproof navy peacoat is a particular favourite. Take a look at how we styled each look and let me know what you prefer - Sartorial or Street?

Instagram x

Ever since I bought my first Polaroid 600 I've loved instant film. There's something irreplaceablly magical about holding an image in your hands that you've just taken. So last week when the Sartorial7 lads and I had our photoshoot at the Oliver Sweeney HQ, I was more than impressed with their wall of Polaroid photos, even more so after being told it was in fact a new service of printable Instagram images. The Return of 100 Beards

After searching the streets of London for bearded men over 100 consecutive days last year, my #100Beards project seemed to take a life of it's own. 16 months and 4 exhibitions later and I'm nearly ready to release the new edition of the 100 Beards book. The first edition, a limited run of signed copies, sold out in only 6 weeks so to ease disappointment, I've created a preorder link for the new book at

The new book will feature the first 100 fellas, plus another 200 portraits - many of which are unseen and unpublished. Since beginning the project, I've photographed over 250 men with beards and heard over 250 incredible stories about a life with facial hair. This week, I was challenged with the momentous task of documenting the fall of Mr Dan Rookwood's mighty beard. This hairy demise comes with a purpose, as Dan is being sponsored to grow a moustache as part of the Men's Health team for Movember.
