Today the Independent on Sunday launches 'The Men's Issue'. The lead story by Rebecca Gonsalves, is photographed by yours truly, featuring dandy gentlemen from London and Glasgow. One of the chaps is my good friend Chris - a pillar of style and ambassador for East London brand Dent de Man, designer of the superb suit he sports above.

Here's what I had to say when Gonsalves asked my opinion on the recent evolution in British men's style: "I've been photographing style on the street since 2007, and the change has been remarkable. British men have noticeably smartened up, taking a more considered approach to dressing. Only a few years ago the high street was full of men in badly fitting jeans and comical graphic t-shirts. Now the average British man is far more knowledgeable about designers, fabric and cut when I chat to them on the street. They take pride in dressing intelligently."
